I purchased the car 5 years ago before the drifting craze exploded in and around chicago and the car was in terrible condition BUT I bought it for two reasons; It was $400 bucks, and had very minimal surface rust. I then purchased a s13 silvia front clip for $2300 W/motor and trans (again this was 5 years ago)and enjoyed every minute of it....until I blew it up going to road america. I drove the car all the way back to chicago on (what felt like 2 cylinders and tore the motor out. I sent the motor out to Apex engineering and went apeshit with it. .020 bore so it was exactly a 2000cc motor picked up a gt2871rs turbo, valves springs and retainers, hks 272 cams all around, cryo treated the block, ported polished and port matched everything, then put everything back in. Got the car resprayed Championship White (gotta rep my honda heritage) then got it dyno-tuned (made 371whp on 14lbs + 100octane) and decided it was a great idea (insert sarcasm here) to race acouple of 600cc bikes on the highway. We raced 3 times, I destroyed them twice, and threw a main bearing the third time so I guess they won. Anyways instead of just fixing the thing for around $900, I found a really kickass deal on a 01 Camaro SS motor with trans, ecu, wiring etc for $3000's AND it was local. The motor already had ported and polished heads on it. Sold the SR and bought the ls1 the same day. Custom wiring, mounts, headers, and exhaust were made by my good friend Toti at MPH motorsports down in skokie IL. I then picked up a ls6 cam, z06 ported TB, and had the ECU reflashed with a zo6 tune. As for the trans; I am running a 300zx r200 dif w/ axles and ditched the 3.71 final in favor of a 4.10, picked up a Competition stage 2 clutch with a 12lb flywheel. Im very happy with the car...for now. Just recently I picked up a Comp Cam 284 duration w/.521 lift (yet to go in) and in the not so distant future, looking to pick up a FAST intake manifold, Brembo big brake kit and possibly go 150 shot nitrous kit. Well see how that goes. -Matt
